Rice Krispie Treats Shamrocks

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1 package (10 oz. about 40) JET-PUFFED Marshmallows
  • OR
  • 4 cups JET-PUFFED Miniature Marshmallows
  • 6 cups Rice
  • Can of vanilla frosting
  • Green food coloring
  • Green decorative sugar crystals(optional)

DIRECTIONS

1. In large saucepan melt butter with heat on low.  Add the marshmallows and stir mixture until melted.  Remove pan from the heat.
2. Add the Rice Krispies and stir until the cereal is well coated.3. Using a buttered spatula evenly press the mixture into a 9×13 pan coated with cooking spray.  Cool slightly. Using a cookie cutter coated with cooking spray cut Rice Krispie treats into shamrocks.

4. Use the green food coloring to color the canned frosting green.  Stir well.  Frost the shamrocks with  green frosting and sprinkle with green decorating sugar.
MICROWAVE DIRECTIONS:
In microwave-safe bowl heat butter and marshmallows on HIGH for 3 minutes, stirring after 2 minutes. Stir until smooth. Follow steps 2 and 3 above. Microwave cooking times may vary.
